However, that is not to say that you shouldn’t have smaller buildings: a good number of them should be kept on road corners. Large event buildings are most efficient for this reason. You can see this if you do the classic "straight buildings and roads" technique, that the longer the depth of the building is, the less road you are using to connect the same portion of building tiles. Larger and longer buildings can be made more road efficient than smaller and shorter ones. In spite of all these rules, the biggest factor determining road efficiency is building size. If you follow my Town Hall setup, you can have up to eight more buildings connected to one road than buildings connected to two adjacent sides. There may be some special cases such as unit farming where you may find it necessary, but overall, I consider them a great deprivation of road efficiency ( see Miscellaneous).įun fact: every time you create a road end, you will also create a road corner, so the number of buildings you have in road ends will be proportional to the number of buildings you have in road corners. You should place smaller buildings as they, although less efficient with the straight buildings and roads strategy, are just as road efficient when it comes to road corners and junctions.
